The Smiling Farm's steak rub 3 seasoned ribeye steaks

Ingredients:

  • 2   ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2   tablespoons Smiling Farm Steak Rub 3 seasoning and rub
  • 1   tablespoon olive oil (or your choice of oil)
  • 1   tablespoon butter (optional, for extra richness)
  • Fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Steak:
Remove the steaks from the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking. This      helps them cook more evenly. Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel to      remove excess moisture.
  2. Season the Steaks:
Rub the Smiling Farm Steak Rub 3 seasoning generously onto both sides of the steaks. Make sure the rub is evenly distributed. If you like a bit more flavor, you can add a pinch of fresh cracked black pepper on top.
  3. Heat the Pan:
Heat a heavy skillet (preferably cast-iron) over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and let it heat up. The oil should shimmer but not smoke.
  4. Cook the Steak:
Place the steaks in the hot skillet. Sear them for about 4-5 minutes on      the first side, undisturbed, to get a nice caramelized crust. Flip the steaks and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, depending on your desired level of doneness:
    • Rare: 125°F (about 2-3 minutes per side)
    • Medium-rare: 130°F (about 3-4 minutes per side)
    • Medium: 140°F (about 4-5 minutes per side)
    • Medium-well: 150°F (about 5-6 minutes per side)
    • Well done: 160°F (about 6-7 minutes per side)

  1. Optional Butter Baste:
For extra flavor and richness, add a tablespoon of butter and a sprig of      rosemary or thyme to the pan during the last minute of cooking. Tilt the pan and use a spoon to baste the steaks with the melted butter and herbs.
  2. Rest the Steak:
After cooking, transfer the steaks to a plate and let them rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
  3. Serve:
Slice the steak against the grain, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve immediately.

Suggested Sides:

  • Roasted vegetables (e.g., potatoes, carrots, and Brussels sprouts)
  • A fresh green salad
  • Garlic mashed potatoes
  • Grilled corn on the cob

Enjoy your perfectly seasoned, juicy ribeye steaks!
